Blind Faith - Rebecca Zanetti

Blind Faith by Rebecca Zanetti
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Agh!... That's literally what I screamed when I got to the end of this book. Why? Because I was so into "Blind Faith" that I wasn't ready for it to be over. I've read so many books that I've lost count (pre - goodreads) and normally I know exactly where the story is going... but Rebecca Zanetti kept me surprised the entire time. Everything I thought was going to happen.... well I was wrong and I liked it.

This was my first time reading this author so I wasn't quite sure what to expect but I really enjoyed it. Now in the interest of full disclosure there were a few instances when I wanted to skip over a few pages to get back to the action and find out what was going on but not enough to keep me from enjoying the story.

Because NetGalley provided me with a copy of "Blind Faith" I unknowingly jumped head on into book 3 of the Sin Brothers Series. Now that I know this was part of a series I really wish I would have read the first 2 books beforehand but thankfully the author did a wonderful job that made it possible for me to read "Blind Faith" by itself... (I do recommend that you read the series in order.)

Official Book Synopsis

A betrayal he couldn't forget . . .
For Nate Dean, love is a four-letter word. As part of a secret black-ops military unit, he and his brothers were genetically engineered by the government to be ruthless soldiers with an expiration date. They were loyal only to one another . . . until Nate laid eyes on the woman who stole his heart and blew his world apart. Now, years later, his family is still paying the price for his mistake. But as time runs out, there's only one person who can save his family: the very woman Nate swore he'd never trust again.

A love she couldn't deny . . .

The moment Audrey Madison spies Nate across a crowded ballroom, she can barely breathe. He's just as undeniably sexy as she remembers, yet there's an edge to him now that's as irresistible as it is dangerous. When he asks for her help, Audrey can't refuse. But she has secrets of her own--secrets that, if Nate ever discovers them, may cost them both their lives . . .

A Perfect Storm - Lori Foster ( Not Quite Perfect But Definitely Worth It) Ebook

A Perfect Storm
: (Men Who Walk The Edge Of Honor Series bk 4) - Lori Foster
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

*BK synopsis posted below*

After reading the previous books in this series I had a pretty good idea how things would unfold in this story. That being said I was surprised at how much I still enjoyed this novel.

Lori Foster does an amazing job at writing sexy alpha males that you can't help but love. And Spencer Lark is no exception. He's a hot guy that is still dealing with the haunting loss of someone he loved.

While Lori Foster has impeccable taste in her leading men she doesn't sacrifice or short change her female characters... Like the ones before her, Arizona Storm is a beautiful, unpredictable and unique heroine in her own right. She is determined to overcome her traumatic past and in the process help take down the man behind a local human trafficking ring. Arizona Storm is a ballsy woman who can hold her own even when she confronts the very thing that almost destroyed her.

I'm not saying that the book is perfect. Honestly there were a few scenes that I couldn't help but roll my eyes or grin at the level of cliche that was present but, "A Perfect Storm" is definitely a book that I would recommend reading at least once. It's not my favorite from the series (that honor goes to When You Dare) but I still enjoyed it. Partially because of the chemistry that was between Arizona and Spencer. But also because of the characters separately. I truly enjoyed Arizona's character. She wasn't willing to be a victim of her circumstances and I love that about her.

One thing is for sure... I can never read just one Lori Foster book and I'm always left thinking

Official Book Synopsis:

He never saw her coming…

Spencer Lark already knows too many secrets about Arizona Storm, including the nightmare she survived and her resulting trust issues. But in order to expose a smuggling ring—and continue avenging his own tragic past—the bounty hunter reluctantly agrees to make Arizona a decoy. Yet nothing has equipped him for her hypnotic blend of fragility and bravery, or for the protective instincts she stirs in him.

Arizona wants to reclaim her life, which means acting as bait to lure the enemy into a trap. Sure it's dangerous, especially with a partner as distractingly appealing as Spencer. But as their plan—and their chemistry—shifts into high gear, Arizona may discover there's an even greater risk in surrendering her heart to a hero….

"Hard as a Rock" is more of a teaser story than an actual book. I really wish that there was a little more to this book. But that being said it is a good read that made me want more from the Paranormal Protection Agency series.

Official Synopsis: Iliona's had a rough day, so the last thing she wants is a whiny ex on her doorstep throwing accusations about which of her co-workers she's sleeping with. When he starts throwing punches and one of her hunky gargoyle co-workers rushes to her rescue, Iliona is more interested in what exactly he's been doing on the ledge outside her bedroom window...and whether he's interested in more than watching.
