"Night Moves" - Helenkay Dimon (A Blush Novel By Harlequin that failed to make me blush?)

Without spoiling the plot let me explain..... I am a fan of HelenKay Dimon's books so I was surprised at how little I enjoyed this one. I kept finding myself getting bored with the story and wanting to skip a head. Which is something I doubt I have ever done with one of HKD's stories.
So not only was I bored and wanting to skip a lot of pages I was simultaneously wanting to hit the main characters upside the head. Some of the chemistry between Maura & Liam was believable but most of the time I was taking their chemistry, their actions and the entire plot on a leap of faith.
I knew from the cover that "Night Moves" was going to have a fair dose of Mystery because its from the Harlequin Intrigue's line, but I was surprised to find how the intimate scene was handled. Its a blush scene which is fine but it came across to me as a something that had to be tacked on because of the book was being published as Harlequin and most readers assume that it would have some kind of "bowchickawowow" scene.
And unfortunately by the end of the story I was left with that dreaded "eh" feeling. You know that feeling you get when you have read worse books so you don't hate it but at the same time you didn't like it either. That is how I feel about this one. Lot of potential but doesn't live up to it.
*Genre Blush Mystery -(FYI Blush is a suggestive romance where the love scenes are not graphic.)
There is a part of me that feels like a "tool" whenever I say I didn't enjoy something.. Because I love to read and I really do appreciate and acknowledge all the hard work that goes into creating the book I just read... so just in case this review bothers someone who had something to do with that process....
uh sorry? kinda... sorta...

The best thing about "Undercover in the CEO's Bed" is the ending. I'm not saying that to be harsh but because it's true. The ending was something that I didn't see coming. And truly a refreshing surprise. Overall I liked the book. But being 100% honest most of it was both predictable & forgettable. This is not a book that I would read again. But I would recommend that anyone looking for a beach read or quickie romance read give it a go, because the ending alone is worth it.
Official Synopsis: Billionaire Lex Rochester has a problem. Someone is trying to sabotage the family company, but the investigation needs to be highly discreet because Lex suspects it's one of his own relatives. His solution--hire IT security specialist Jacinta Greene, who also happens to be his ex-girlfriend. With Jacinta posing as his newly reconciled girlfriend, the other Rochesters won't suspect they're being monitored. The last thing Jacinta wants is to see Lex again. Their breakup still tortures her, but she'll do just about anything to help her kid brother, even pretend to reunite with Lex. But the more time she spends with Lex, the more she realizes she's never gotten over him. Which is bad news, because she and Lex are fatally incompatible. The fire that still burns between them is as hot and irresistible as ever. Can Jacinta remember what's real and what's fake, or will she be hurt by Lex all over again?
